First day at school

2 September 2 o’clock, I can’t sleep because I am nervous to go to school.
I try to fall asleep.
7:00 In the morning I am standing up and I eat cornflakes.
I brush my teeth and go to school.
My first impression is sad because I love vacation.
Now I am playing a lot of games in the classroom, for example Cluedo.
I have a good teacher, she is very friendly and helpful.
In the afternoon I have English it’s not my preference subject.
At the moment we are learning about the present simple and the present continuous.
It’s difficult for me when you use the different verb forms.
16:00 o’clock the schoolbell is ringing.
We can go home, everybody is very excited.
When I arrive at home I eat something.
Now I am doing my homework for maths and make some excercices.
18:00 o’clock we are eating with the family.
After dinner I watch television and I go to sleep.

School routines

In the vacation I don’t have a real daily structure but now when I am going to school I do.
For example I go asleep at 21:30 o’clock and I wake up at 7:00 o’clock.
I need 30 minutes to prepare myself: eating, brushing my teeth and making my bag for school.
We go to school by bike with friends, we leave at 7:40 in Loenhout and arrive in Hoogstraten at 8:20.
School starts at 8:30, we have 7 lessons a day and each lesson last 50 minutes.
We have 2 different brakes: short brakes are taking a quarter and lunch brakes are taking an hour.
We have different courses: mathematics, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, religious education, physical education, French, English, Dutch, informatics and history.
For each subject we have a different teacher.
For the most subjects we have extra tasks we have to do at home.
At home: I do my homework, I have dinner with my family and I have some free time.

Changes behaviour

There are a lot of differents between primary and high school, specially about personal skills.
In high school students have to work more than a child in primary school for example 2 hours extra a day.
In high school we have to do our work more independent a good thing about it: we have more freedom and a bad thing about it: we have to work harder.
In primary school we only have local friends, in high school we have a lot of friends from different villages. Having more friends is very great. We can learn a lot from each other, about a lot of different things so my personal opinion is also growing.
In primary school, children are playing a lot of time but in high school the teenagers are talking with each other about their free time.
For me a big difference, is having a phone: so you can organise your free time yourself.
